Fantasy football waiver pickups are extremely important to the success of your team. Injuries happen and players just aren’t what they were hyped to be. Here are four pickups I would consider grabbing before someone who is much smarter than us does.
, RB – Seattle Seahawks
Running backs are one of the most changed positions in fantasy football. Many are in need of a running back with the injury to David Johnson and potential injury of Bears running back Jordan Howard.
Chris Carson may be your man. With Eddie Lacy being a healthy scratch in week 2 and no end in sight Carson got the bulk of the carries. Last week he had 21 total touches for over 121 yards. He has been the Seahawks best option at running back thus far. Get him now!
Alex Smith, QB – Kansas City Chiefs
Only 50% of fantasy owners have Alex Smith on their rosters. That seems rather low. Smith is currently on pace for 4,952 yards, 77.7% completions and 40 TD’s to 0 interceptions. Although those numbers are sure to come down still would be a valuable option to add to the roster and make your backup. Hell he may even be your starter by years end.

Mohamed Sanu, WR – Atlanta Flacons
Atlanta’s offense appears to be rolling once again and when that happens every option is available for Matt Ryan. Sanu has 11 receptions on just 15 targets and is a match up nightmare across the middle of the field. As the season rolls on look for his numbers to improve as teams continue to key on Julio Jones. Add now and use later type of player.
Jesse James, TE – Pittsburgh Steelers
Greg Olsen is out with a broken foot for 6-8 weeks. You need a tight end. The bigger names have been off the board for weeks. Jesse James may be your last option. So far this season he has 10 catches for 68 yards and 3 touchdowns. Week one alone he had 2 touchdowns. He may not be flashy but he seems to be getting looks early on in the season.
Check back next week as I will bring you four more names that could help you out this season!
