It’s the the peak of summer which means it’s time to celebrate 4th of July! What better way to prepare than with a list of adult beverages we could be sipping on as we celebrate this beautiful country in our red, white and blue attire on the lake, near a grill or just hanging out at home watching the fireworks from the porch.
I have compiled a list of what I think are drinks you gotta try out for this holiday when celebrating.
Bomb Pops
This drink literally tastes just like a bomb pop so it’s a great way to not only indulge into the nostalgia of our childhood but drinking a drink that is literally red, white and blue. It’s a little sweet so one or two would be a good starter to feel extra patriotic as you sip on a drink that looks good and tastes like ice cream. Being that the holiday is on a Tuesday this is a fun drink to enjoy and know you can still wake up the next day for work. How many you choose to tip back is totally up to you after your first two…I am no longer accountable for you and getting yourself to work. These can be dangerous. Of course, I don’t mean from ~experience~ but they will sneak up on you!
What you’ll need:
2 oz of Bacardi Razz Rum
2oz of Lemonade
2oz of Blue Curacao
Grenadine
Directions:
You’ll get yourself a nice glass and fill it with ice. You’ll start by throwing in a splash of grenadine first. Then you’ll slowly pour the rum in, following the lemonade and ending with the blue curacao.
If you want to get crazy you can even drop in pieces of the actual Popsicle for character and ice effect.
Sparkling Red, White and Blue Sangria
This has to be my favorite on this list. It’s super refreshing and there’s champagne and fruit…magical. This one is a fun one to throw into a mason jar or a giant wine glass. The recipe is made in a punch bowl so you can share with a friend and family or keep to yourself…I’m not judging, I may even encourage it.
What you’ll need:
1 bottle of dry white wine of your choice
1 cup of white grape juice
1 bottle of champagne
Berries: blueberries, raspberries and strawberries (Chop these babies up so they mix better)
Granny Smith Apples
Directions:
Mix the wine and grape juice together and throw in all the berries and let them sit in a punch bowl or big pitcher for about 4 hours.
Once it comes time to actually drink the sangria then you’ll mix the champagne in.
Because it’s 4th of July you can take a mini star shaped cookie cutter on the apples and toss those into the mixture with the champagne! You can find them for under a $1 at Walmart! Now you’re ready to enjoy!
God Bless America and Smirnoff
This drink is super easy. I didn’t even realize there was an actual recipe for it online and they named it, “Patriotic Punch”. Smirnoff has their limited edition Red, White and Berry Vodka. The bottle itself screams America so there’s a good step in feeling patriotic.
What you’ll need:
1 Bottle of Smirnoff Red, White & Berry
Pink Lemonade
Strawberries
Lemons
Blueberries
Directions:
I didn’t add specific measurements because this one definitely has more room to mix it however you like to mix your drinks.
The website suggests:
1.5 cups of vodka mixed with 3 cups of the pink lemonade in a pitcher and that should serve around 6 people. After mixing those two together throw in some ice and all the fruit and you’re set to go! EASY ENOUGH! Enjoy!!
Last but not least…..drum roll…..
BEER!!!!!!!
What’s a holiday all about America if we don’t enjoy a good beer?
I don’t personally drink beer, but for our staff here at TGS, beer deserves a lot of recognition and I couldn’t dare not suggest it. I think if I have to recommend a beer I’d say Busch Light, I think, everyone on staff is all about it. I think? Budweiser seems patriotic too since ya know there names now America? But I still suggest Busch Light since according to some people it’s like heavens water.
If you drink any of these, let me know how it goes! Drink responsibly and celebrate America the way it deserves to be celebrated no matter what you drink!!
Happy Fourth of July from me and the rest of the staff also enjoy this cute patriotic corgi!
