We cleaned out our pantry and refrigerator to compile ingredients to make shrimp boil foil packets (say that 5 times fast) and stream Halloween Kills to officially get ready for the greatest holiday, Halloween!
Total Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- ¼ lbs. raw peeled and deveined shrimp
- Shucked corn on the cob cut into 2 inch pieces
- 2 tsp. Cajun season or Ryan’s amount of a lot more
- 3 oz. sausage, sliced
Instructions:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Cut two large pieces of aluminum foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Season shrimp and corn with Cajun seasoning and add to prepared foil; top with kielbasa sausage. Tightly seal to create a foil packet.
- Place foil packet on grill for 10 to 12 minutes or until shrimp are opaque, sausage is warmed through, and corn kernels have softened.
- Remove from the grill and enjoy.

Ryan: I have to be upfront about this review, I am a major fan of Michael Myers and the Halloween franchise. I am such a fanboy, I wore my Halloween t-shirt and went to the opening night release and then happily rewatched with Haley a few days later. So after a couple of watches and most likely a couple more before the end of the month, I have one word to describe the movie… content. The movie had really cool moments, like the flashback to the 1978 night, and I felt like they absolutely nailed those scenes. But then there were weird forced moments of bringing back old characters and the mob and their chants of ‘Evil Dies Tonight.’ I enjoyed that they focused on the people of Haddonfield but felt like it was too choppy. Lastly, I also found myself not being ‘as scared’ as the other films on the first watch. Overall, I was content, there were really cool unique scenes and moments and a ton of kills but felt like the story could have been improved. Either way, you will find me dressing up in my Halloween t-shirt next year and attending the opening night of Halloween Ends.

Haley: I have to be upfront about this review, I don’t like horror movies very much. That being said, I generally like the Halloween movies and have been excited about the remakes with Jamie Lee Curtis as an executive producer. I really liked the last movie, but unfortunately, I was disappointed by this one. Halloween Kills was better than bad, but I wouldn’t quite call it good. This movie focused on how the town of Haddonfield is reckoning with its murderous history, but something about the way the citizens of the town process and react to the return of Michael Myers wasn’t convincing. The townspeople interacting at the bar in the beginning, I think, is supposed to demonstrate the town’s collective trauma and respect for the survivors of Michael Myers, as well as their readiness to take him down. But that doesn’t square with the first movie which was entirely focused on the perception that having survived Michael Myers, Laurie Strode is too crazy to function in society and too traumatized to be worthy of relationships with friends and family. While I did enjoy the character continuity from the old movies, the story’s abrupt 180 in which the town collectively going nuts trying to stop Myers felt entirely random, leaving us with a ton of brutal murders and no cohesive story. As someone who doesn’t like horror movies, I cling to the story where I can find it, and Halloween Kills gave me none.
