It’s Mount Rushmore week here at The Tailgate Society and I figured I would try to stay in my wheelhouse. If there is anything I know about drinking, it is the best places to have a beer. So I present to you the Mount Rushmore of beer drinking locations.
Lake Beer

If you have been following me for any amount of time you know that every year my friends and I go to the Ozarks for a few days at the end of the summer. There is nothing better than floating in a hot lake drinking a cold beer. Floating on a noodle near a radio or speaker playing your favorite songs as the sun blasts you. This is heaven. Getting a floating cooler is a must because you don’t need to get out for more booze. Plus you get to pee without leaving so you go that going for you.
Shower Beer
Whether you have been outside working on your lawn, or freshening up preparing for a long night, nothing tastes better than an ice cold beer in your shower. Hell, the only thing better is two. There were times in college where I would run out of hot water because I brought too many beers into the shower. My old clock radio playing whatever song was catchy that summer on 105.1. I can almost smell the mildew from that old trailer I lived in behind Hickory Park. Those were the days. You want me to look at you like you just grew a third head. Tell me you have never had a shower beer.
Tailgate Beer (Before 8am)
Here is the thing. You could cheat and say tailgate beer deserves to be on the Mount Rushmore, and you are probably right. But it is hard to be on Mount Rushmore. You need to be truly great to be on there. So to be on that list you need to be drinking while the sun rises awaiting your team play. Greatness waits for no man/woman. You can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning.
Gravel Travelling

Once again this space is taken by something I did a lot more of in my youth. Sitting shotgun while you drive around the country roads of wherever you grew up with a cold beer in your hand, and the radio going, with nowhere to go but forward. I am sure this still happens, but doing this back before cell phones where you didn’t know where you were and only the conversation in the car to keep you company was a special time and place.
*Drinking and driving is extremely stupid and if you do it you are endangering yourself and anyone on the road. Don’t do it.
There you have it. If you want to tell me how I am wrong on twitter or tell me something I missed find me at TedFlintKansas. Thanks and get to drinking.
