We are flying through the college football season and the storylines and conference powers are really poking out now. Friday night, USC battled Utah giving the Utes their first loss. Michigan headed to Madison where the Badgers wiped the entire state of Michigan with their butts. Washington State had a quarterback throw for NINE TOUCHDOWNS in a game, and lose, to a very bad UCLA team. Iowa State put up 72 against Louisiana-Monroe. Texas slipped out a win against Oklahoma State and Oregon kept rolling, so let’s see what’s in store for the future!
Royal Peach Fizz
We’re diving straight into the hard stuff this week! Per usual, the Big Ten brings the marquee games early. Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin are all ranked and hosted unranked teams. The one with the most concern, that should probably actually be the least concerned, is Michigan. After getting stomped by Wisconsin and only leaking out a few garbage time touchdowns the Wolverines get Rutgers at home. Rutgers is still not good, so it should be a cake walk. Another team with a bit of a walk-thru is Oklahoma. They’re hosting Texas Tech and 4 touchdown favorites, so while it might have offensive fireworks it shouldn’t be too competitive.
What You’ll Need: Crown Royal Peach, orange juice, champagne”
This drink has a nice fall flavor but is great for enjoying anytime, not just for brunch. This drink can be enjoyed straight or over ice, so choose your destiny! Add a half ounce to an ounce of Crown Royal Peach whisky, then add an equal amount of orange juice. Finally top off the drink with champagne and enjoy!
Corona Refresca
The afternoon has some fun in store! Virginia heads to take on Notre Dame in a top 20 matchup and USC heads north to take on the Washington Huskies. These two games could be pretty entertaining and come right down the end. Iowa State also heads to Waco to take on the garbage university that is Baylor. The teams are fairly evenly matched and as mentioned above, ISU is coming off of a HUGE offensive weekend. So keep an eye out for a lot of good football Saturday afternoon!
These little fruit beverages are a delight. I’ve only tried the Passionfruit Lime, but it’s phenomenal . A good flavor while not being over the top sugary is the combination I look for in all of these beverages and this one checks those boxes pretty well!
Breakfast Burritos
When the sunsets, a lot of football will actually just be getting started. Mississippi State is battling Auburn, which could be a great game, or Auburn might win by 28, who knows! UConn is going to Orlando to take on UCF who got blindsided in an upset by Pittsburgh last week. Fear not, the Golden Knights are still 6+ touchdown favorites. Kansas State going against Oklahoma State which is a big game for both teams in the Big XII. Kansas State is playing much better than we expected and OSU is doing the same. Ohio State takes on Nebraska in the featured game for College Gameday and all I really have to say is Good Luck Huskers!
What You’ll Need: Breakfast foods (eggs, bacon, sausage, any combination), onions, green peppers, red peppers, jalapeños, tomatoes
This is an impossible one to tell you how to do because none of the ingredients are essential and can be made to your own taste buds. That being said it’s super easy! The ones I made above were super simple. I went with scrambled eggs, sausage and jalapeno bacon. Feel free to add in diced peppers, diced tomatoes, hell throw in some Fruity Pebbles if you’re really drunk! These are great because you can prepare them the night before for enjoyment in the morning. Add all your ingredients into a tortilla shell and roll into a burrito shape (I’m really bad at that part as it turns out!). Wrap the burritos in aluminum foil and then bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. Throw them in the fridge for the morning! In the morning you can grill them for a few minutes if you’re tailgating to warm them up, use an oven or even a microwave if you’re in a hurry!
That’s my outlook for Week 5! I think it’s going to be a lot of fun and plenty of action to keep your eyes on. I hope you enjoy some lovely beverages and tasty treats! As always, stay safe and I hope your favorite team wins (except for you, trash-ass Baylor fans)!
