It’s November and that means there’s only a few weeks left to the regular season! The suspense grows each week, hell even each day at this point thanks to MACtion, Thursday, and Friday night games. Week 9 had some great games, but not a ton of change in impact for most teams. West Virginia bounced back from their ISU loss by completely rubbing Baylor’s nose in the dirt. Clemson rolled, Oklahoma rolled, Alabama had a bye, but I think still put up 45 points. Texas lost and that’s always neat! Kentucky snuck out of Columbia with a win against Mizzou, Washington continued to slide and Arizona finally looked like a real football team destroying Oregon. But enough about the past! Let’s dive into the freshness of Week 10!
Autumn Punch
This week doesn’t kick off with anything that jumps off the page at you necessarily, but there’s a few storylines to keep in mind as the day begins to unfold. Clemson hosts Louisville which has just been an atrocious football team this year. Clemson comes into the game was almost 6 touchdown favorites! Those are Alabama numbers, and I don’t think it’ll be too far out of the realm of possibility to see Clemson cover. Texas A&M heads to Auburn and the Tigers have also had a less than stellar fall from grace as the year progressed, but should still be a pretty good game. A spotty Michigan State team heads east to take on Maryland after the Terps have had a complete mess on their hands this week.
What You’ll Need: Jagermeister, Pineapple rum, Citrus vodka, pineapple juice
An ice filled glass is a perfect way to begin a cocktail, so that’s where we’ll start! Mix in equal parts of Jager, Pineapple rum, and citrus vodka. Make sure to leave a decent amount of room for your mixer, after all it’s early and we don’t want you to miss the rest of the action. Just top off with pineapple juice and give your cocktail a thorough stir.
Salty Dog
The afternoon kicks into gear right away and should be a hell of a ride. The SEC features a Top 10 match up when Georgia heads to Kentucky for a huge SEC East showdown. West Virginia takes on Texas which has the chance to have some pretty big implications on the Big XII title fight. Iowa heads to West Lafayette to face the Boilermakers for a game that could shatter one teams Big Ten West dreams. Penn State heads north to Ann Arbor to battle the Wolverines in The Big House. This game could be a nail in the coffin for Penn State’s conference title dreams and a big step forward in the national spotlight for Michigan.
What You’ll Need: vodka (regular or grapefruit), grapefruit juice, salt
This is a classic drink that’s a great refreshment for any time of year. A very simple mixture is all kicked off by salting the rim of your cocktail glass. Fill with ice and then mix in equal parts of vodka and grapefruit juice. Give a light stir to mix everything and grab a bit of salt, and enjoy!
The Beast
The night games on Saturday should keep everything rolling pretty smoothly from the afternoon. There’s plenty of action and potential madness to go around. Notre Dame heads into B1G territory and takes on Northwestern. I’m not sure it’ll be all that great, but there’s definitely that chance that the Wildcats just unload and take down the Irish. While not likely, it’s what the outcome I want most. Oklahoma takes on Texas Tech which has some interesting points to watch. Texas Tech is coming off a loss to Iowa State which is a team they are very similar to and ISU gave the Sooners a run for their money earlier this year. The game the whole nation has their eyes on is Alabama vs. LSU. From what I’ve seen, the number 3 team has never been a 2+ TD underdog at home in history, yet here we are. Bama is a monster, a horrifying monster. Late Saturday has Washington State hosting Cal. The Cougars almost lost their spot as the Pac-12’s last hope for the CFB Playoff, but they held on and look to keep that success going.
What You’ll Need: Jack Daniels, Southern Comfort, Amaretto, Orange juice
This is a drink to really tie one on after the long day of football. Fill your gameday cup with ice and combine equal parts of Jack Daniels and Southern Comfort. Add in about a half of a shot of amaretto, then top off with a small pour of orange juice. Stir everything together and sip this one slowly!
SHOT OF THE WEEK!!!

This Spiced Apple Bomb was brought to my attention last week (shoutout to Brooks) and I’m adding a small twist to it. Taken as a bomb, it combines some flavors that are synonymous with this time of year. Mix together Fireball and Crown Royal Apple for your liquor combination. Red Bull just released a Winter Edition flavor that’s Plum Twist. It’s what I recommend to use for your energy drink ingredient for the bomb, but whatever else you’re feeling should work great as well!
That’s all I got for this week for everyone! Week 10 should be a lot of fun so make sure to keep your remote close. As always, stay hydrated, stay safe and have a blast! I hope everyone’s favorite team wins this weekend (unless its Notre Dame)! I’ll see everyone here next weekend!
