Woo, buddy! Week 4 was certainly a treat all around for the college football fans across the country. If you were a fan of a top 15 team, you maybe sweat through your team’s game, but chances are you ended up with a victory. At the end of Saturday, for the most part, games ended up shaking out the way they were supposed to. Alabama continued to dominate and enter week 5 as 48.5 point favorites over the Ragin’ Cajuns. Oregon closed out a game in the absolute worst way possible, hitting 100% win probability from ESPN TWICE, and eventually allowing Stanford to win. And who can forget the Sooners gifting us the Pay-Per-View thriller against Army and Old Dominion giving us the game of the century against Virginia Tech! Enough about last week though, lets get down to the nitty-gritty!
Caramel Apple Cider
Kick off the week when it’s still a bit chilly out with a fall refreshment that will help fire up a buzz for an exciting day. The early slate features the aforementioned Alabama game and a showdown between West Virginia and now ranked Texas Tech, who I was just dogging on the other day. There will be plenty of offense to go around and we’ll be taking touchdown shots by 11:05.
What You’ll Need: Vodka, Caramel syrup, Apple cider, ginger beer
In your gameday chalice, fill with ice and add in a shot or two of vodka. Next, add in a small dash of caramel syrup for flavoring then fill with apple cider leaving about an inch or two at the top of the glass. Stir all these ingredients together until everything mixes well, then top off with ginger beer.
Cherry Breeze
The afternoon doesn’t hold back as the day treks along. Michigan against Northwestern might be more interesting than some give it credit for, but then again Michigan may just treat them like they did Nebraska last week. UCF takes on Pitt in pursuit of their second straight national title and this is the kind of game that Pitt gets sneaky and tries to win every year. In less than thrilling news, Georgia is going to wallop Tennessee. Sorry Vols.
What You’ll Need: Cherry whiskey, lemonade, cranberry juice
In your tailgating cup filled with ice, add in one-two shots of cherry whiskey. Fill almost to the top with lemonade, leaving enough room to add in a splash of cranberry juice for a little flavor and color. Garnish with a cherry or orange slice!
Drunken Float
Aptly named for the way a lot of our Saturdays end up, but a sweet treat for the wind down of the evening. And folks, we have a gosh darn doozy Saturday night. Ohio State heads to Happy Valley to take on Penn State. Obviously a huge game that has B1G and national title implications on the line and features an apparently quite tone deaf social media department. Stanford-Notre Dame will be huge, and BYU against Washington might show us if Jake Browning really has it or not.
What You’ll Need: Vanilla rum, root beer
I assume you’ve had a few cocktails so we’ll keep it simple. Glass, ice, equal parts vanilla rum and root beer. Nice and smooth with the perfect amount of sweet.
SHOT OF THE WEEK!!!
Inspired by my thought that Pitt might just take down UCF, sometimes you have to risk it all to take down the enemy so we’re doing Kamikaze’s! A sweet shot that’s built just ruin your day before you know it! A mixture of 2 parts vodka, 1 part triple sec and a splash of lime juice. Shake over ice and strain into a shot glass.
That’s all we got this week! It should be a ton of fun with endless possibilities! As always I hope everyone has a blast, stays safe and stays hydrated! I hope your favorite team wins (unless you cheer for TCU) and I’ll see you right back here next week!
