Enrique Hernandez is a super-utility player for the Los Angeles Dodgers. For starters, he’s awesome for going by “Kiké” instead.
He’s also awesome for three things he did this week and none of them had to do with him succeeding on the field.
Kiké trolled Kiké
Kiké is Mr. Do Everything for the Dodgers, and that’s probably why he found himself pitching for the Dodgers in the 16th inning against the Philadelphia Phillies last Tuesday night. He is not a member of the Dodgers normally stout bullpen.
That’s probably why he didn’t fare so well on the bump.

Kiké took everything in stride though. He posted on Instagram to showcase some of his own frustration and to call himself out.
That’s the kind of accountability that even a certain new Los Angeles Laker would admire.
Kiké called out the king
No, he didn’t call out LeBron James or Zlatan Ibrahimović. He spilled the beans about how his superstar teammate Clayton Kershaw wasn’t just the king on the bump.
In an interview on MLB Network’s Intentional Talk, he outed Kershaw for being the “grossest farter in baseball.”

Shoutout to Kevin Millar for asking the questions that we were all dying to know. There’s no way Kiké could have provided a better answer either because what does Clayton Kershaw not do well? He pitches lights out, and he farts the lights out, too.
Kiké trolled the Atlanta Braves
Longtime Braves announcer Joe Simpson, who started his Major League Baseball career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, threw a fit about what the Dodgers wore during batting practice prior to their showdowns in Atlanta this weekend.
I wasn’t aware that pregame attire was such a big deal in baseball. I thought that the NBA was the only league about creating a fashion show type atmosphere, but Simpson thought the Dodgers were being too lax and not taking the game seriously.
What the hell does that even mean?
Well, Kiké had the perfect response on Twitter. All hail, Kiké.

I admire all of these subtle digs that Kiké was able to get in off the field, but he only went 2/21 at the plate this past week. Here’s hoping that he can do more damage like this again and back up his hilarious interview and social media game.
One response to “Kiké Hernandez is awesome”
[…] Like this piece, I wrote about how awesome Los Angeles Dodgers utilityman Kiké Hernandez is last summer. […]
